SIA - Sorry in Advance - for those of you who don't love autumn the way I do :)

Utah Bigtooth Maple from Tibble Fork against a typical Utah blue sky.

I know it is officially 2 weeks until the start of autumn in the north, but unofficially I always mark the first of Sept. as autumn in Utah because that is the way it feels.

Expect to see lots of color soon from me, today was just a scouting trip.

Dogwood Impressions

Came across this 2002 image taken in up state New York. I was driving from Palmyra to Manchester and saw a patch of woods on the side of the road. My waited patiently in the car while I attempted to capture some images of Dogwoods in bloom. I came across the image yesterday while looking for something else and being in a bit of an impressionist mood, I decided to change it from a photograph in to a impressionist version.

George Hincapie 2009 US Road Race Champion and a rock star in the world of professional cycling, rides towards the finish of a practice run for the Prolog of the Tour of Utah.

I've watched George for a lot of years ride the Tour de France and other races often in support of Lance Armstrong. I was thrilled to capture this shot of him.

I forgot I still have a lot of Antelope Canyon shots to work on. This is my first one from Upper Antelope. The place was such a zoo that I almost decided not to even try to get any shots. I've been telling my self that I wouldn't go back to upper but after looking at some my shots from there I realize how different the colors are so I just need to go back in the late fall after the crowds are gone.

This is looking straight up and when I saw it I realized I needed to shoot it this way since I felt like I was looking at a golden stone waterfall.

Double Rainbow, Albion Basin, Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah

The rainbow we normally see is called the primary rainbow and is produced by one internal reflection; the secondary rainbow arises from two internal reflections. If you look at the order of the colors you will see the secondary rainbow's colors are the reverse order of the primary.

August Storms

Two Nights in a row we've had tropical thunderstorms. Both nights produced amazing colors at sunset. Last night's was at Albion Basin and tonight's was at Antelope Island State Park.
