To be honest, I’ve been a little crabby lately. My carpal tunnel is getting worse by the day and my fingers are starting to swell. They don’t look too bad but my wedding ring only sometimes fits. I know I shouldn’t complain because there are a lot worse pregnancy complications I could be having. But it is frustrating to not be able to do anything without wrist pain/finger numbness. Oh and did I mention that the lab called to say that they lost my blood glucose test!? I took it on MLK Jr day so don’t know why it’s taken so long to figure out. I’m hoping I can just skip it at this point. I’m 33 weeks now, it seems crazy to worry about it now. I really don’t want to take it again!
Mostly I’ve been frustrated that Jacob is so so busy with school. I do appreciate that he’s so motivated and disciplined but sometimes it would be nice if he was a bit more of a slacker.
Usually I like the alone time but I’m starting to feel bad knowing this is our last few weeks together just the two of us and he’s too busy to enjoy it.
BUT there are a few things making me happy lately.

- Multigrain Cheerios. I don’t know what it is but currently I can’t get enough of this cereal. I usually eat at least two bowls a day. Hold on, I need an afternoon snack….
Ok I’m back now.

- Lemonade. It’s certainly not the best for pregnancy heartburn but it’s one of the few things I’ve had any cravings for. Jacob wonders if it’s related to this next thing…

- Lysol 4-in-1 Lemon Breeze Cleaner. Yeah, that’s still going on. I can’t get enough of this smell. Our kitchen is much, much cleaner than normal.

- Jacob had these wedding photos framed for me for Christmas as a really sweet and thoughtful surprise. They finally made it to the wall this weekend and our apartment feels so much more homey now.

- The fact that it’s Cadbury mini egg season. This is the king of all candy, in my opinion.

- The wrist brace. Ok, it’s not making me happy at all but it is making life bearable! Plus it looks incredibly hot, am I right?

- Working on some things for Baby Girl’s room. I’m pretty much making it up as I go along. I’ll have to share some of my favorite baby things another day. I’ve found so many cool things (even if most of them won’t be coming to live at our house.)

- Seeing this on the fridge. The fortune says, “The rainbow’s treasures will soon belong to you.” I got it in a fortune cookie at dinner after we had the ultrasound last week. In case you didn’t know, we have a history of special fortunes.

- And this beautiful invitation on my fridge. Is my sister awesome, or what? I think it’s so darling (the photo and my “editing” don’t do it justice.) I’m really excited to go to Utah this weekend and see lots of my favorite people! I only wish I could stay longer. It will be a super quick trip for us but I can’t wait.
What’s making you happy lately?
I am so happy that I finally get to see your cute face!!
I am also happy for you to be a mom, you will love it.
I love this happy post! I think you’re such a great example for having a positive attitude and finding happiness in simple things, even when life is sometimes hard or frustrating. I have done a couple posts in the last week about joy and happiness. Life is good, isn’t it? What’s been making me happy lately is being outside in the morning, making homemade bread, listening to music (John Mayer and Rilo Kiley as of late), cleaning my apartment, and looking forward to a Utah trip as well! That’s so funny, we will be there the same weekend!
Planning your shower down here! Seriously, having a project makes me feel like a humanly being and not just a run down mom. Going out to stores to look at cute things for your shower or just planning details with Paige – it gives me a reason to get up and shower!
Oh and I love your wedding pics on the wall. Very cute!
I feel ya! The 3rd trimester is so hard, especially with the husband in grad school. But I also have found comfort in cereal–and thanks to you, now I want lemonade too! And I WISH our apartment smelled like Lysol, but mostly Landon ruins that on a daily basis… haha
We’re so close to being done!!
Your sister IS awesome! Just to prove this fact, I’ve let my kitchen get disgusting so you can have an excuse to smell all the cleaning products you want. What time can you get here?
P.S. can’t wait to see how the nursery projects are coming together!
The family I used to nanny for bought tons of the Simply Limeade and WOW, could I put that away. Delicious.
The shower is this Saturday?! Sorry I am such a slacker. I totally meant to have your present ready for it. I guess you will just get it at your house. Have fun. Sister time is the next best thing to husband time! And soon you will have cuddly baby time. One of the best things in the world.
Love the happy post, and knowing I’ll see you in a few days.
Yeah, who needs a husband when you have Cheerios?
Just kidding. I feel your pain. Too bad you don’t have a cat to keep you company. Or some other kids running around the house. At least you have blogging.
<(") (^^^)
Sorry for triple commenting, after I saw that the smiley face shewed up, I had to try the penguin and shark, but they didn’t work.
<3
Anyway, I love the colors of your nursery stuff and can't wait to see what you are making. The wedding and temple pictures on the wall are cool too. I love lemon too. Yesterday Adriana was blowing lemon bubbles and it made the house (at least) smell so clean.
I love that baby shower invite…mine’s sitting on my counter waiting for Saturday!
I love your happy things – especially the mini-eggs
. I think I may need to go to the store.
I had/have the worst wrist pain and numbness too. I still have to do exercises for it otherwise I have to go get a steroid shot.. yikes! I can’t wait to see what creative-ness you put into her little room. I love the fabric that you have. And I LOVE those Easter eggs…. yumm! Congratulations on getting so close to your due date. I know I don’t have to tell you this but you are going to LOVE being a mom. I still don’t “feel” like one but I just love having the little stinker around.
My sister, with my niece, got Bells Palsy (I don’t know if that is spelt right). But that is where you get paralysis on one side of your face! Her eye wouldn’t shut so she had to blink herself and her mouth would not close all the way! I felt so bad for her! She is better now but you can still see some of the down turn in her eyes and mouth!
Sean and I are so excited for you guys! We are wanting to plan a trip for this year and Las Vegas is one of the choices! If we come we definitely want to see you guys. (and for me meet you guys!) I was telling Sean and Jacob is the last of the best friends growing up that I haven’t met. So hopefully we will change that!
Second year of medical school is tough…especially in the spring with all the finals and board studying!
What makes me happy right now? Knowing we will find out our residency placement in less than two weeks! Love the pics and hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well.
