christmas journal dec. 13-25

Next year when I do this journal I vow not to let myself get this far behind!! I haven’t decided yet if I’m continuing with the journal for the days after Christmas to New Years. I’ve been working on this all afternoon so we’ll see how I feel about it tomorrow!

You should be able to click on the pages to see it bigger and read the journaling (that way I don’t have to write about our trip twice!)

(Photo coming soon of Christmas Cards)

Bacon Wrapped Pineapple Bites recipe here. Everybody LOVED these. And they really are easy. We’re making them again on New Years!

This day Jacob and I went to SLC for an afternoon date. We got waffles at Bruges and saw Me and Orson Welles at the Broadway theater. Such a fun date!

I also stopped by my old school to see Shareka and some of my old students. They’re getting so big! After school Heidi and I rented 500 Days of Summer and Jacob watched the BYU game before we headed back to Mom and Dad’s.

Met my childhood best friend Courtney for lunch today. I’m so happy we’re still friends after over 20 years! Mom made the Sinterklaas dinner tonight, yum!

I didn’t decide to buy anything for the baby until 4:00 PM on Christmas Eve! I had been talking myself out of it and then finally decided I would feel bad if I didn’t so Heidi and I ran off to Target just in time before it closed! I love the gifts we picked out for her. You’ll see on the next page that the baby made a haul! She’s already so loved.

Merry Christmas! As you can see, we had a wonderful day. I couldn’t fit all the details onto the pages! My brother really was there, even though none of the pictures turned out. The “pantyhose” sign from my Grammy for Mom was one of our favorite gifts. We’re still not sure what she was thinking! As mentioned on the pages, Jacob and I got lots of great gifts including a new lens and tripod for me and a digital video camera for Jacob. My parents apparently want to be sure we capture every move this baby makes. :)

These are so fun! Do you plan to print them? Where did you find the fun Little People Christmas sets? Looks like you guys had a great time. Are you enjoying Vegas more after spending all of that time in the snow? I’m sad we missed you when we were there:( I couldn’t believe how cold and windy it was at the game! My mom, sister, Emmett and I drove back to CA at half-time. Anyway… we need to chat soon! Happy New Year!

You AMAZE me! Thank you so much for putting so much work into these pages — I have loved reading them. I’d love to hear more about your family’s Bethlehem dinner. Brian and I have heard of those before and want to start the tradtition in our family, so any tips or suggestions would be amazing!
I love the pile of gifts for Baby girl — what a lucky little lady — she is coming to an incredible family. (And I love that she got the little people nativity — we got that for Charlie Boy this year and it has been the hit of the season for him– not to mention FABULOUS for keeping his little fingers from being tempted to touch our other nativities that are less than kid-friendly).

Looks like you had a great Christmas. Thanks for posting pictures of Jacob, but where are the pictures of yourself? The kids are having a lot of fun with Don’t Break the Ice. Thanks!

Heather, I’m not in any of the pictures because I was taking the pictures! I’m sure I’m in some pictures somebody else took. You know how it goes!

I got a Molly doll around the same time you did, and my mom did the same thing and bought the patterns to make all of her outfits. It was so sweet and they looked exactly like the real thing!
