countdown to christmas dec. 3- printable gifts

If you spend anytime on etsy you know that printable gifts and products are all the rage right now. Why? Instant gratification, for starters. You see something you want and get it in your inbox within a couple of hours. It’s a do-it-yourself with less stress because the instructions are right there for you. And what I think is the greatest attraction is that you can use it over and over. You can use it many times yourself or make several gifts with it, which is perfect for my teeny tiny budget this year.

So, seeing as everyone is on a budget this year especially I’m going to highlight some of our favorite printable gifts on etsy. This is just a sampling of the awesomeness you will find on etsy. Go take a look around and do a search for “printable” items to see some more options. Since my friends and family read this blog I had to leave off some of my great finds that will be my gifts this year. And pay close attention because you, my lucky readers, will find a freebie that will make a great gift for kids! So just keep reading.

Christmas Song of the Day: The First Noel/Mary Mary by Sarah McLachlan. I remember when this came out 2 years ago I listened to this song on repeat for days and days. The video is just a bunch of pictures of Sarah, so just listen to the song. It’s also on my Christmas mix that I’ll be posting soon.

Christmas Quote of the Day:
“The real Christmas comes to him who has taken Christ into his life as a moving, dynamic, vitalizing force. The real spirit of Christmas lies in the life and mission of the Master….

“If you desire to find the true spirit of Christmas and partake of the sweetness of it, let me make this suggestion to you. During the hurry of the festive occasion of this Christmas season, find time to turn your heart to God. Perhaps in the quiet hours, and in a quiet place, and on your knees—alone or with loved ones—give thanks for the good things that have come to you, and ask that His Spirit might dwell in you as you earnestly strive to serve Him and keep His commandments” (Howard W. Hunter, “The Real Christmas,” Ensign, Dec 2005, 22–25).

I love this idea Emily. Everyday I know I have something to look forward to at the end of my day, when I check my beloved blogs with a cup of cocoa. I love your finds for today with the print it yourself ideas. Money is tight for us too, and I can’t wait to get the menu planners that hangs up with clothespins. Keep up these great posts, just so you know, it’s people like you that make me want to start up my own blog too. BTW, I’m a friend of MaryRuth’s from Spokane WA. She introduced me to your blog and I’m so glad she did.

I came across that Red Riding Hood the other day and love it!! That shop has some Matryoshka doll paper that I’m trying to find a need for, too. And I think I must now make a Christmas address box!!! And I’m in love with the book lover kit.

And, that gingerbread game is pretty awesome, even if I do say so myself! :)

It was probably 2 years ago that I started reading your blog, and I clearly remember you talking about Sarah’s Wintersong CD, and even more specifically about the song The First Noel/Mary, Mary. You were the reason I bought that CD. Funny how things come full circle! :)
