countdown to christmas dec. 2- christmas cards

I love Christmas cards, even though I’m almost never on the ball enough to send them. Also I always feel silly sending them when we don’t have kids, even though I like getting them from people, even if they don’t have kids. Silly, I know. Growing up Mom would keep all the Christmas cards attached to the outside of the kitchen pantry door. I always loved looking at them and reading the letters.

Here’s some of my favorite Christmas cards from etsy…

I love this customizable stamp by notepourri. It would be so cute on your envelopes, or even homemade cards.

Christmas Song of the Day: All That I Want by the Weepies

Christmas Quote of the Day:
“There is a magic in Christmas. Hearts are opened to a new measure of kindness. Love speaks with increased power. Tensions are eased…

“Of all things of heaven and earth of which we bear testimony, none is so important as our witness that Jesus, the Christmas child, condescended to come to earth from the realms of His Eternal Father, here to work among men as healer and teacher, our Great Exemplar. And further, and most important, He suffered on Calvary’s cross as an atoning sacrifice for all mankind.

“At this time of Christmas, this season when gifts are given, let us not forget that God gave His Son, and His Son gave His life, that each of us might have the gift of eternal life” (Gordon B. Hinckley, “The Son of God,” Ensign, Dec 1992, 2).

  3. Mom says:

Whatever!! I send cards just from me AND include a 2-page letter all about me (mostly because it’s such a fabulous subject). Are you going to knuckle down and send cards this year?

  5. Amy says:

I would send cards, but every year I have to call my mother-in-law to get addresses(wedding thank-yous, baby shower thank-yous, graduation announcements, graduation thank-yous, etc), and I always think that I will actually copy them down in my actual address book, but I’m always in a hurry, and so I just address the envelopes and vow that next time she gives me addresses I will actually write them down. I’m pretty sure she’s probably getting annoyed. I have a New Year’s Resolution that while I’m at their house, that I’m going to sneak around and find her address book and copy down all the addresses I will ever need, so that I will never have to call her for addresses again.

We’re actually sending them out this year (if I get around to getting them printed). Grammy got mad at me last year for not sending them out…shame on me!

  7. Oh I’m so glad I found your blog!! I actually got a google alert & saw that you featured one of my greeting cards (thank you!!!) but have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog. We have a lot in common!
